Dexter and Archie’s New Friend

We have had such a busy few weeks, so apologies for the lack of posts!

A little while ago, mum was contacted by an Instagram friend from Italy. The lady had a daughter who wished to visit our country, in order to improve her English – and did she know of anyone able to help?

Yes of course she did……US!

Yes…..our family!

Fast forward a couple of months and Clara arrived from Turin to stay with us for two weeks!!

Clara has a Spaniel called Argo, who looks like a darker version of us. As we knew she would be missing Argo, we thought we’d better make her feel at home straight away, with lots of doggy kisses and cuddles!

We had the most lovely time with Clara.

We took her to the beach, on probably one of the coldest days of the year (she’s not used to going to the beach wearing a coat!). Us boys didn’t mind, we had the best time ever, with extra humans to play with us.

We showed her some of our local walks……lots of places of interest (aka all the best bushes to sniff)……all the yummy doggy treats we get in England, (a pizzle caused the most amusement!) and most of all, we showed her lots of Spaniel love!

We had the most wonderful time and made a new forever friend.

Sadly after two weeks, Clara had to return to Italy to her own family and Argo, but we know we will see her again sometime.

Ciao Clara xx

Archie and Dexter’s holiday in Northumberland.

Archie and I (and our humans), have just returned from a fabulous few days in Northumberland.

We stayed in beautiful cottage in the little town of Rothbury, thanks to our human brother-in-law’s family – who lent us their house!

We had a wonderful time exploring the area. The beaches were amazing and we couldn’t get enough of them! To think there was all that sand just for us to dig in……amazing!

One day Archie tried to bury one of mum’s shoes! However much to his disappointment, she noticed just at the last minute and managed to rescue it!

All the beaches we visited were very dog friendly, huge and very quiet. There was enough room for everyone to have their own little bit!

Archie and I have never had so much exercise in the three days we were there. Mum had us up at the crack of dawn each day. Her excuse was she kept waking up early as it was so light – we think it was excitement as she just couldn’t  wait to get on the sandy beaches!

Our days on the beachwent something like this:-

Run around – ✅

Play ball – ✅

Dig in the sand – ✅

Paddle – ✅

Repeat – ✅

Of course there was the odd snack and nap thrown in too!

At the end of each day – the humans were so tired, we decided we would let them rest. We were so bored watching them sit doing nothing, we fell fast asleep (it obviously had nothing to with the fact that our little legs couldn’t take anymore!)

Archie and I agree this has been the best few days away in a long time. We are already planning our next trip – so watch this space!
